Angular Momentum Loss by Gravitational Radiation in Relativistic Binary Stars

We discuss the angular momentum loss mechanisms in the updated data set on binary systems with black hole (BH), neutron star (NS) and white dwarf (WD) companions in addition the double degenerate binary systems (NS+NS, NS+WD and WD+WD). We have calculated the angular momentum loss rates and time scales in the selected relativistic binaries as well as very short period massive binary stars.
