Simulations of galaxy clusters

I summarise the state-of-play with simulations of galaxy clusters. While these can reproduce the over-all properties of clusters, the physical mechanism that is responsible for the entropy excess in cluster cores remains unclear.

I present results from a new study that links simulations with semi-analytic models of galaxy formation. I disentangle the effects of star-formation, feedback from snr, from quasars, and from "radio-mode" agn.
